Growing up as a kid I was in love with cartoons. Wacky, semi-funny, but oh so colorful cartoons. Even though I no longer watch tv as much as I used to as a kid I have recently fell into reading webcomics, and webtoons. I was so inspired that today I have crafted my own ridiculous version of a childish webcomic. Here is the sketch:
"Lolitups" currently has three main characters one of them being of course "Lolitups" who is a fun loving creature obsessed with candy. He has super stretchy uneven arms, a long tongue that craves sweets (sweets, and candy is the weakness of "Lolitups"), and a need for friendship/acceptance due to its awkward appearance.
Magna Girl is a gives no cares in the world trouble maker. She seeks fun, and adventure.
Electro-Boy is a calm, cynical, voice of reason. He seeks peace, and just wants to graduate high school so he can get out of "Chilly town."
Magna Girl, and Electro-Boy are regular teenage students who find themselves in a heap of trouble, and adventurous chaos upon finding the great "Lolitups", and gaining superpowers. Magna Girl and Electro-Boy must now find out how to guide "Lolitups" back home to "Tupi-kingdom" while fighting the evil "Clushies", and stopping them from gaining the power of "Lolitups", and destroying the world.
Welcome, "Lolitups: The Adventures of Magna Girl, and Electro-Boy!"
I am going to be having fun with this webcomic. It's not too be taken too seriously as I am practically winging the storyline, and what not (this is also my first webcomic so I'm excited while having no idea what I am doing!). We'll see how far this can go, and where this journey takes us. The character names will continue to get even more ridiculous as we go along (the villains, side characters, and the like) so don't be shocked as the story progresses, and enjoy the ridiculousness intertwined with somewhat meaningful lessons.
I created the digital illustration for "Lolitups" in Adobe illustrator, and yes, magna girl's hair controls magnets as well while Electro-Boy creates electricity from thin air! (their power increases as the story goes on) Overall "Lolitups" is about the true power of friendship, and acceptance while making good, and bad choices.
I have a video of the making of "Lolitups" which will be uploaded soon since it's taking a million years to export.
